Air Coolers and Chillers are designed and manufactured at TAAM engineering, India based on the process data given to us. We also design air cooler or air chiller to fit in an existing system to replace old unit. This has in past resulted in lower pressure drops and hence efficient use of cooled air in the process followed.
For applications involving cooling or chilling of air to dehumidify the air, air coolers designed with our wire wound tubes have resulted in lower pressure drops and economical sizes. Our fin tube heat exchangers are compact heat exchange units, very economical for compressed air cooling.
The cooled air from air cooler is used in process instruments, fiber quenching, cooling - alternators, engines, strips etc in process industries, power generation, large motors, textile, synthetic fiber industry, steel mills, rolling mills, galvanizing lines etc.
We have special finning machines capable of manufacturing continuous Root Soldered fin tubes of any length. This gives us liberty to design air coolers with longer tubes for process applications wherein the air flow rates are high.
Base Tubes of Stainless Steels, Carbon Steels, Copper and Copper Alloy are finned with Stainless Steel, Mild Steel and Copper Fins.
Tube Wall temperatures up to 290 deg C are possible.

The following write up about Fin Tubes and Fin Tube Heat Exchangers is for information purpose only.
Several applications require cooled, dehumidified air and others require hot air or hot gas generated in the plant to be cooled down. To cool air, a cooling medium such as cooling water, brine, glycol, cooler air is passed through the tubes.
In most applications, the arrangement of pass partitions makes it possible to optimize mass flow rate of the cooling medium to provide optimum tube side heat transfer coefficient. However, the controlling film resistance is on the air or gas side. The use of tubes without finning results in very low film heat transfer coefficients thereby 'wasting' high heat transfer coefficient on the tube side resulting in a poor design that requires a large number of tubes and several rows of bare tubes. This results in high pressure loss on air side.
The fins create turbulence around the tube as well as between the fins. This reduces the air or gas side film resistance and increases the air or gas side heat transfer coefficient many fold. The resulting design of the air cooler is compact, economical, with low pressure drops.
Air Coolers consist of rows of finned tubes welded, brazed or expanded into tube sheets. It is also necessary to provide a tray in the air cooler to collect water condensed during cooling of the air.
