Oil Coolers - Forced Draft Air Cooled

Air Cooled Oil Coolers to cool lube oil, hydraulic oil, gear oil, crude oil are designed to suit   equipment space and process parameters. Generally the size of an air cooled oil cooler is fixed by the designer of the main equipment. We have design capabilities to design oil coolers for these applications too. Alternately, we manufacture fin tubes and fabricate oil coolers as per the specifications and drawings given to us.

The heat transfer coefficient on oil as well as air side are low. Use of root soldered wire wound fin tubes and turbulators make it possible to design a much compact, economical air cooled oil cooler with low pressure drop.

Stainless Steels, Carbon Steels, Copper and Copper Alloy tubes finned with Stainless Steel fins, GI fins and Copper fins are used.

Tube Wall temperatures up to 290 deg C are possible.

Air Cooled Oil Coolers with wire wound fin tubes and turbulators are shown below

Production and Quality Assurance are under supervision of professional Mechanical Engineers. Every oil cooler or finned heat exchanger is subject to stage inspection and conforms relevant standards.

Oil Coolers - Air Cooled Oil Cooler, Air Blast Oil Cooler

Oils like hydraulic oil, lube oil are viscous, thereby flow in streamline flow in most cases. Even otherwise, these have very low heat transfer coefficient. As explained above air offers low heat transfer coefficient. this makes it necessary to provide external fins as well as internal fins to improve the overall heat transfer coefficient.

To increase the tube side heat transfer coefficient of the oil cooler, turbulators are inserted inside the tubes. The turbulators are also called tube inserts, internal fins. The tube inserts cause turbulence and reduce the resistance to heat transfer by the oil side film. Turbulators of various types can be used in oil coolers: wire wound turbulators soldered to the inner surface of the fin tube, a spring stretched in the fin tube, a twisted tape inserted in the fin tube.
